Questions and Answers

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a way to explore thoughts and feelings in daily life which challenge us and cause distress.

How do I know if I need counselling?

If you are struggling to cope and are finding day-to-day life difficult, perhaps counselling will help.  Talking to a professional in confidence (not a friend or family member) can make all the difference. Counselling allows you to explore your feelings and talk about any problems you’re experiencing. The aim is to develop better ways of coping, allowing you to move forward and get the most out of life.

What languages do I speak?

I speak Hindi, Punjabi, a little Urdu and English.

How does a session work?

Sessions last 50 minutes. They can be weekly or fortnightly depending on personal circumstances and needs.

Do you work online or face-to-face?

I work both online and face-to-face depending on client preferences.

Where can I see you face-to-face?

I work at The Consulting Rooms, 34 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1DA.

How much do you charge?
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?our Title Goes Here

We ask for at least 48 hours notice for cancellations in order to accommodate other clients and not incur cancellation fees.

What can I expect during my first session?

We will discuss and explore your reasons for seeking counselling and identify specific areas to work on. We aim to establish a therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust. Confidentiality and a safe space are essential.

What modality do I use?

I am a Person-Centred counsellor. I believe that every person can, and will, become more fully functioning if given the correct conditions. The underpinning principles of the Person-Centred Approach are focused on honesty, being non-judgmental and fully accepting, whilst being fully integrated in the relationship. This allows you, the client, to lead and set the pace. I aim to offer these conditions as best as I can during our relationship.

Am I qualified/registered?

I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I adhere to the BACP ethical framework for good practice and the BACP Guidelines for Online Counselling and Psychotherapy. More information can be found here.
